Tubes with CPT for cell separation: they allow in a single step the separation and transport of PBMCs mononuclear cells in 20 minutes, standardizing and simplifying the process. They contain an anticoagulant (sodium citrate or sodium heparin) and a cell separation medium consisting of a gel and a density gradient liquid (ficoll).

The blood is drawn, centrifuged and fully processed in the primary tube. During centrifugation, the mononuclear cells, due to their lower density, move from the plasma and are suspended in the density gradient liquid above the gel, which forms a stable and impermeable barrier to the erythrocytes and neutrophils, which settle at the bottom of the tube.
