Description
Vacuum blood extraction tube. Made of plastic (Polypropylene)
Sterile and for single use
These tubes are recommended for plasma coagulation studies.
They contain a buffered trisodium citrate solution, as an anticoagulant.
0.129M: 3.8% sodium citrate + citric acid
pH = 5.2
The blood / additive ratio is 9:1
The results are clinically equivalent to the globally recognized "Gold Standard", the full-fill glass tube with buffered citrate BD Vacutainer™ of 4.5 ml.
They are clinically tested in multicenter clinical trials for routine coagulation tests with the main patient populations (normal patients, patients under treatment with oral anticoagulant warfarin and patients under therapy with unfractionated heparin) and have been evaluated with the most widely used autoanalyzers in coagulation tests.
The innovative tube geometry minimizes the "free space" and the platelet activation associated with it, optimizing the monitoring of aPTT in patients treated with unfractionated heparin. They are full-fill tubes with the external dimensions of a standard 13x75mm tube and with small fill volumes (2.7ml and 1.8ml).
Benefits:
Preserves coagulation factors
It is the most recommended for coagulation studies
Avoids pH variations that could modify the results
Platelet activation is avoided, improving the accuracy of results and reducing the risk of misclassification of patients under unfractionated heparin therapy.
Compatible with tube holders and autoanalyzers. It improves the workflow of the laboratory.
Facilitates the opening of the tube. Avoids the adherence of erythrocytes. Prevents the onset of latex allergies.
With its design, direct contact with the micro drop of blood that remains in the cap after extraction is avoided. Prevents splashing and dispersion of serum droplets during opening.
