The BD Nexiva Closed and Integrated System is designed with an intravenous catheter of 18g x 45mm and double entry. It is particularly optimal for IV therapies as it allows the system to remain closed to contamination while treatment is being performed. 

Made from BD Vialon radiopaque, a biocompatible polyurethane recommended for vascular access that enhances needle penetration and tip integrity, the latter designed with a hole to facilitate visualization of blood return along the catheter body even in patients with compromised veins or low blood pressure. 

Compatible with Luer and Luer-Lock connections. 

Features: 
- All components are pre-assembled to reduce possible blood contact. 
- Flexible extension tube with clamp to keep manipulations away from the puncture site and reduce the risk of catheter mechanical complications.
- It softens inside the vein to avoid mechanical phlebitis and allow flow recovery in case of bending.
- The guide wire passes through a silicone membrane located at the back, cleaning the stylet from fluids and eliminating blood contact.
- Double flexible epicranial fixation flap for better fixation and effective catheter control even in the case of small or difficult-to-access veins.
- Adapts to different insertion techniques thanks to its ergonomic design. 
- Passive safety mechanism to protect the needle after insertion, thus avoiding accidental punctures.
- Catheter hub and double entry in green color.
