The BD Nexiva closed and integrated system is designed with an intravenous catheter and double entry, especially suitable for use in IV therapies. Thanks to its Instaflash technology, it incorporates a hole in the needle tip to facilitate the immediate visualization of blood return along the catheter body, a feature especially useful in patients with compromised veins or low blood pressure. Features: - Designed with a flexible extension tube with a clamp that allows manipulations to be moved away from the puncture site, thereby limiting the risk of catheter mechanical complications. - Compatible with Luer and Luer-Lock connections, allowing the system to remain closed to contamination while IV access is being performed. - All its components are pre-assembled, making it more efficient, reducing the possibility of blood contact and decreasing manipulation. - Adapts to different insertion techniques. - It has a passive safety mechanism that protects the needle after insertion, thus avoiding accidental punctures. - Manufactured in radiopaque BD Vialon, a biocompatible polyurethane specially developed for vascular access that offers exceptional penetration qualities, tip integrity, and tolerance. - It softens in the vein reducing the risk of mechanical phlebitis and allows flow recovery in case of kinking. - The stylet passes through a silicone membrane located at the rear, thus cleaning the stylet of blood and fluids and completely eliminating blood contact. - Double flexible epicranial fixation fin that allows better fixation and reliable control of the catheter even in small or difficult-to-access veins. - Catheter hub and double entry in green color.
