It operates with a state-of-the-art motor and cools using R600a gas, an environmentally friendly refrigerant as it is free from chlorofluorocarbons. It opens through a transparent door with an integrated key lock and has 3 height-adjustable shelves to distribute the material inside. It has a built-in climate control system that allows monitoring the status of the device at all times and has various acoustic and optical alarms that alert the user to malfunctions that may compromise the stored samples. In cases of emergency, the device activates a backup battery with a 12-hour autonomy to monitor the interior temperature even if there is no electric current.
