These disposable shutters offer the possibility of administering drugs intravenously in an interrupted manner with a single catheter. In this way, the number of punctures that the patient must endure to receive their treatment is reduced. For this, they have a cannula that completely plugs the catheter channel, preventing the formation of blood clots and allowing the same route to be reused intermittently over long periods of time.
