These single-use stoppers allow for intermittent intravenous infusions with a single catheter, reducing the number of punctures the patient must undergo to receive treatment. For this, they have a cap with a cannula that blocks the catheter tube and prevents the formation of blood clots, allowing the same intravenous route to be reused over extended periods of time.
