Practice loin for epidural lumbar injections
Allows for acquiring the necessary touch for epidural puncture, with tactile access to the lumbar spine and dural sac. Detects loss of resistance and simulates cerebrospinal fluid.
Description
This practice back has been designed so that anesthesiologists can acquire the necessary touch before treating a real patient. If the epidural needle is inserted too deeply, a slight resistance is felt before it penetrates the dura mater. The features of this practice back are:
• Tactile and visual access to the lumbar spine, the epidural space and the dural sac
• It can be placed in a horizontal or lateral reclining position
• The spinous processes and inter-spinal spaces can be palpated under the skin
• The epidural injection is performed either with air or with some saline medium in order to detect
loss of resistance, and if a puncture of the dura mater accidentally occurs, the “cerebrospinal fluid” will appear
•It can be easily disassembled to show the position of the needle at any time
during penetration
• It consists of skin, muscle layer, flavum ligament, vertebral bones and intraspinal ligament
Supplied with a complete metal Tuohy needle and a loss of resistance syringe.
Measurements:
27 x 21 x 11 cm
