The FSG molding foam is specifically designed for orthopedic technicians, who use it to create negative foot molds based on the medical diagnosis. From this imprint, it is possible to develop a positive mold in plaster or resin, accurately determine the anatomy of the foot or digitize the footprint with a scanner for subsequent treatment with specialized software. Its use is essential in the manufacture of custom insoles or custom orthopedic shoes, providing accuracy and reliability in the results.
Made of phenol foam, it comes in a cardboard box with two individual plates, one for each foot. The product is for single use and exclusively for external application under the supervision of qualified personnel. The patient's foot must be clean, free of creams, wounds or infections, and can be covered with a sterile gauze if necessary. The procedure involves unfolding the foam, placing it in the correct position and guiding the patient to obtain a centered footprint. In case a full weight bearing (foot in support) capture is needed, the patient's stability must be ensured.
For hygiene and safety reasons, the technician must wear disposable gloves and remove any foam residue from the foot immediately after use. It is not allowed to reuse it and, if the footprint is not valid, it must be repeated with a new pair. The foam should not come into contact with mucous membranes or be combined with other products.
