Description
The Oxford HELP® laryngoscopy pillow set is specifically designed to elevate the head of patients with a higher body mass index (BMI), providing an additional support system that enhances access to the airways in complex clinical situations. This set is ideal for use in emergencies, intensive care units (ICU), operating rooms, and bariatric surgery procedures, among others.
Made of polyurethane foam, it is completely latex-free, making it suitable for patients with allergies. In addition, it is designed without seams or zippers, so there is no need to cover it.
Set components:
- Oxford HELP® base pillow: Dimensions 755 x 510 x 145 mm and weight 1000 g.
- Oxford headrest: Dimensions 218 x 212 x 111 mm and weight 150 g.
- Oxford HELP® Plus pillow: Dimensions 630 x 510 x 80 mm and weight 600 g.
Especially indicated for:
- Patients with compromised airway access, including those with obesity, overweight, and obstetric patients with cesarean section.
- Patients who present difficult airway access with high laryngoscopic complexity.
- Situations where regional or local anesthesia is required, with or without sedation.
The Oxford HELP® set is useful in various medical areas, such as:

- The Oxford HELP® pillow can be left in place during surgery, but should not be used to transfer the patient as it may damage the pillow.
- Supports and straps should be used to stabilize the patient.
- The maximum allowed lateral tilt is 15º and the Trendelenburg should not exceed 22º.
- If there are doubts about the patient's stability, it is recommended to stop and review the situation.
