Description

The Ishihara color test is the most commonly used test for diagnosing and classifying discromatopsias (color vision disorders, such as color blindness), although it is also very useful for other processes such as knowing the state of the optic nerve and its fibers in pathologies such as Graves-Basedow or nerve compression in tumors, etc.

This series of plates are designed to provide a test that gives a quick and accurate assessment of congenital color vision deficiency. This is the most common form of color vision disorders. Most cases of congenital color vision deficiency are characterized by a red-green deficiency which can be of two types: first, a Protan type which can be absolute (protanopia) or partial (protanomaly), and secondly, a deutan type which can be absolute (deuteranopia) or partial (deuteranomaly).
