Description

Nu-Gel™ Hydrogel creates a moist environment for wound healing, aids in natural autolytic debridement, that is, the removal of dead (non-viable) tissue, cellular debris or foreign bodies from a wound, while the alginate increases absorption capacity.
This gel can be used to facilitate wound rehydration, so it is especially indicated in case of wounds with low exudate level, to provide them with an optimal moisture level and thus facilitate the healing process.
The density of the gel achieved through high percentages of PEG and Sodium Alginate, avoids the risk of product dilution with exudate, decreasing the probability of maceration of the edges.
In addition, Nu-Gel™ Hydrogel comes in a packaging that allows easy application and limits product waste.

Physical and chemical characteristics:

Indicated for:
- Autolytic debridement and removal of slough from necrotic wounds and eschars.
- It is also used in the treatment of chronic wounds in all stages of the healing process.

Application and removal technique:
- Carefully clean the wound.
- Remove the self-adhesive label attached to the tube, pulling on the tab.
- Clean the end of the cannula with an antiseptic dressing.
- Remove the cap and break the tab that seals the applicator cannula.
- Apply a thick layer (at least 5 mm) over the entire surface of the lesion.
- If the wound is cavitated, it is not necessary to fill the cavity. Apply the product as described in the previous point.
- To optimize the moisturizing action, it is recommended to use a hydrocolloid dressing that manages the moisture level.

Hydrogel can remain on the wound for up to three days, provided a secondary dressing is used to prevent moisture loss. It is recommended to clean the wound with saline solution before a new application.
