Femur fracture and hip joint wear

This model has been developed to help inform patients in a comprehensible way, e.g. before an operation.
It represents the right hip joint of an older person in half natural size. Additionally, a frontal cut through the femur neck is represented on the base in relief.

The model represents the most common femur fractures in practice as well as typical wear and tear in the hip joint (coxarthrosis or hip joint arthrosis). The following fractures are represented:
- Middle fracture of the femur neck
- Lateral fracture of the femur neck
- Fracture through the trochanter area (pertrochanteric femur fracture)
- Fracture below the trochanters (subtrochanteric femur fracture)
- Fracture in the body of the femur area (body of the femur fracture)
- Fracture in the head of the femur area (head of the femur fracture)
- Greater trochanter fracture
- Fracture or detachment of the minor trochanter (Fracture with detachment of the minor trochanter)
