Cosmopor I.V. transparent dressing, 9x7cm. Box of 100
Description
Cosmopor I.V. transparent is a non-active, sterile, single-use dressing. They are coated with a transparent sheet with a window (a polyurethane film layer, which allows observation of the cannula/catheter during the application of the dressing) and an opening for an intravenous route for the insertion of the cannula protected with a siliconized paper layer that contains fixing strips, for sterile protection and fixing of the cannula/catheter.
Its design allows its use in humans without restrictions of age group, weight range, health status or condition, intended for use by health professionals, on intact skin (healthy skin) and altered skin with a long-term application (Duration > 30 days, according to MDR and ISO 10993-1:2018 regulations).
The dressings are individually sealed in easy-to-open bags.
Indications for use:
- Sterile coverage and fixation of cannulas/catheters.
- The opening, handling, application and removal of the dressing should be done with sterile gloves. The area of application of the dressing should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and ensure that the skin is dry. The use of creams, oils or emulsions can impair the adhesion of the dressing.
1. Separate the fixing strips from protective layer 1 and use the strips to fix the catheter. The removal and application of the fixing strips can also be done after the complete application of the dressing, to further fix the cannula/catheter and the dressing itself (see step 4). If this is the case, do not pull off the protective layer (1) until the removal and application of the fixing strips.
2. After removing the first protective layer 1, apply the dressing centered on the insertion area of the route.
3. Remove protective layer 2 from the dressing flaps and apply them to the catheter and/or cannula. Gently press the entire dressing against the skin, so that it adapts to the shape of the body area and the shape of the cannula or catheter for more secure fixation.
4. The application of the fixing strips can also be done after step 3 to fix the catheter, cannula, cannula with flaps and/or tubes (if applied) and the dressing itself in a more secure way.
