Aloe vera: The combination of substances contained in Aloe Vera can act in depth and in different ways, depending on the type of skin it is applied to. It has the ability to astringe oily skin, hydrates dry skin, regulates sebum in acne-prone skin and soothes irritated skin.
These are some of the properties of Aloe Vera on the skin:
Hydrating: Thanks to its richness in mucilage, Aloe Vera has a great ability to retain water, making it very effective in the treatment of dehydrated skin, although its action is rather astringent, so, despite being suitable for all skin types, it is especially so for people with oily or acne-prone skin, as it retains water without greasing.
In addition to this action, it has the ability to penetrate deeply into the layers of the skin and eliminate bacteria and grease deposits that clog pores. At the same time, the action of the natural nutrients of Aloe Vera, minerals, vitamins and amino acids stimulate the reproduction of new cells.
When using Aloe Vera as an ingredient in various cosmetic products, its extraordinary penetration capacity allows water and other moisturizing agents to be introduced into the skin, removing toxins and allowing the astringent properties to act more effectively.
This penetrating ability helps prevent the pores of the facial skin from becoming clogged and provides a healthy glow because the plant's enzymatic activity accelerates blood circulation and sheds dead cells.
The amino acids contained in Aloe Vera help in the development of new cells. Additionally, they provide a protective layer to the dermis that helps delay the development of harmful bacteria and fungi.
Antiallergic, soothing and anti-inflammatory: It is very useful in atopic skin, prone to allergies, but also to use in lotions indicated for after sun.
Disinfectant: Some polysaccharides and anthracene derivatives contained in Aloe Vera guarantee this property. Its recognized activity against certain viruses and skin bacteria makes it ideal to combat the presence of microorganisms that contribute to the formation of annoying pimples and impurities on the skin. Its astringent properties counteract acne infection and assist in the healing of blemishes, practically without leaving scars.
Having a pH of acidity 4.3, similar to the skin, which is between 4 and 6, Aloe Vera helps to balance the normal pH of the skin.
Stimulant and regenerator: The amino acids, vitamins and minerals contained in Aloe Vera make it very effective in combating devitalized and damaged skin.
In cases of premature aging caused by excessive sun exposure, Aloe Vera nourishes and regenerates the skin. In this sense, from a certain age, the network of collagen and elastin fibers, which provide elasticity and firmness to the skin, begins to change and, consequently, deep wrinkles are formed that can no longer be eliminated.
Aloe Vera extracts restore balance between these changes, thus stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. Aloe Vera gel increases the content of soluble collagen in the skin. This regenerating action makes it also excellent for after shaving, as it quickly regenerates many of the cells broken by the passage of the razor blade.
